Challenge: Emergency! (Expert Editing)
Camera: Nikon D200
Lens: Nikon MF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 AIS
Date: Apr 15, 2012
Aperture: 4.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/1500
Date Uploaded: Apr 16, 2012

The composition might not work well here, it is an unbalanced photo. Tried a few different comps and just stuck with the original. I do like how the tips of the sailboats are touching the island above.

Ha! There's an odd sense of joy to this. The one that is about to tip - comical, though perhaps not to that particular sailor at that moment. But still, a very enjoyable photograph! By the way, any closer and you lose the comic aspect, I'd think.

I like how the white sails and hulls stand out. I think I would have cropped the foreground (all the sand and logs) to bring the eyes closer to the matter.

It took me too long to find the emergency in this photo. I don't feel that it has a strong enough presence in the photo.

Not to be overly critical, but there is too much space surrounding the subject - I had to look for a second to see the overturning pram. A closer look would have worked better, then this is a capture of the moment and we all can't get that close to any rapidly occurring event.

Couldn't you just swim to shore, you're about 50m out.
