I saw this man using his cell phone to take a picture while carrying a Canon DSLR on his shoulder.
Needless to say, I was very intrigued and needed some questions answered.
What follows is my impromptu interview:
Me: Good Afternoon Sir. I don't mean to intrude, but do you mind if I ask you a few questions?
Man: I'm sorry, I'm not interested.
Me: I understand, but I am a photographer and writer and I am writing an article for Photo A Day Magazine and I would really appreciate if I could just have a few moments of your time.
Man: Will I be featured in the magazine?
Me: Would you like to be?
Man: It depends on what it is your writing about.
Me: Well It is a photography magazine.
Man: Ok.
Me:So, A moment ago, you were using your cell phone to take a video, I presume?
Man: No, I was taking a picture.
Me: I see, So if you don't mind my asking. Why wouldn't you use your Canon DSLR to take that picture instead of your cell phone? After all, the image quality i'm sure is better on your camera than your phone?
Man: Your right it is, I just wanted to send this picture to my kids and didn't want to wait until later when I get back to my hotel.
Me: Ok, That makes sense. Thanks for your time.
Man: Your welcome. Do you need my name or anything for your article?
Me: Nope. I'm all set.
A few minutes later....
Man: I just Googled Photo A Day Magazine and there's no such thing.
Me: Welcome to New York City.
Have a nice day!
