 Alien Bee B800 in a large softbox above my head pointing down.

To answer the question about the bg, I added a texture overlay to it but at a very low opacity. I was about 5 feet from the wall and the angle of the softbox lightly lit the wall and as I edited the shot and added a vignette that is how it came out. Hope that helps.

I like these kinds of shots, i had some fun a few years back doing shots like these with the can lights in my hallway before I got my lights.

I like the b/g.

and it is just me or does anyone else notice the similarities to this guy?:
