| Nice one! A ton of these guys nest up at the National Zoo in DC every year. Never fails to amuse me that the tourists are looking into the enclosures while right above their heads there are dozens of nesting pairs of Black-crowned Night Herons in every big tree ;-) |

| Thanks guys! I think I also got a shot of a juvenile night heron. It had brown feathers, but otherwise looked a lot like the adult. Will upload that soon. |

| Black-crowned Night-Heron, Nycticorax nycticorax. If I were a bird, I'd really like to have a first and last latin name the same. |

| Nice shot of this Heron. I have never seen them standing out in the open like that. Most of the time they have been in trees or near the water. I love their red eyes! |
