 What may appear to be sunlight catching part of the sand is actually a section of these tidal flats that is slightly higher than the surrounding sand and thus is drier and lighter in color. But that effect was deliberately enhanced during the creation of the composite HDR image.

Shot at First Encounter Beach, Eastham, MA. According to some: "... the site of the first encounter between the Pilgrims and the Indians...The Pilgrims landed in Eastham after leaving Provincetown and before Plymouth. Both parties were surprised, and left quickly."
