 Early pre trial editing with recently taken IR image. The girl is from my old stock. Look too cartoon. Skid the idea.


Now images for challenge. My new experimenting of expert editing from two images.

The snapshot of skull image. It's a hand carved bone pendant. This pendant was purchased in 1994 at Bali, Indonesia.


Sky texture.


Before getting the result. I did the first editing took many hours with another texture. This is the tutorials: //www.csswow.com/how-to-apply-textures-to-uneven-surfaces/

And texture:

It doesn't work at all with skull but portrait should work.

Then the second trial from the tutorial with another landscape sky...... a result really wasted my time.


The editing for the entry image.
1. The skull was chop off with brushing in layer mask.
2. Paste image to sky then Colour Match. There is a caring member given a link of this and I can't remember who. Anyway, thanks.
3. 50% Opacity, resizes the skull and place it at best location with texture.
4. Gaussian blurring the skull about 8.
5. Layer mask and brushing off some part of the skull.
6. Level adjustment, dodge and burn, shadow highlight like my commonly photography editing.

Done! it's a simple newbie style learning. Expected to get hammering.

aha this is great! i airbrushed a similar image on to one of my guitars but the skull was eviler (more evil) and had lightning throughout

Not a bad idea and the execution is not entirely poor, there is something about the blurriness of the pixels (maybe from a weird filter you used) that make the image seem extremely poor in quality. I would have also enjoyed this photo more if you worked the clouds sort of into the face of the skull making the sky itself a skull rather than just an opaque overlay thought thats a ton more work, not bad.
