I have tried not to be too narrow in my interpretation of the Ansel Adams "style" so subject (whatever it is) does not count against this. However, it lacks just about everything else I associate with Adams: clarity, focus, tonal range, etc. It IS black and white . . . |

Catching a cab to the High Sierras. You know it's not sharp enough, right? |

The longer I look at this, the more I see. I confess that I am not voting (since I know nothing about Adams) - but I am commenting - because I am really enjoying the diversity of the entries. This photo is especially compelling and intriguing and wonderful to me. |

Do you have an example of an AA shot that does this? If so that will affect my score. I will hold off scoring for now. |

I really like the shot, but I don't really see Ansel's hand. |

Mysterious and abstract. Maybe more coarse grain than AA would use. For a subject like this, I also think AA would go for clarity and sharpness. I do like the range of tones, with few blown out highlights and few blocked up shadows. |
