Thing about this is, it really shows the difference between those who leave comments and those who go through giving everyone low scores. There is more than a two point difference between the commenters on here and the total votes. This shot is awesome! I want to direct too, so maybe I'm a little biased. :) |

I gave you a 9 for this one. Surprised to see it did not do better. Good job! |

Great photo, one of my top 3 pics for this challenge. Surprised it didn't do better. I think the border works well for the title; even while voting I interpreted it to look like a wide-screen movie. I also like how you seem to fade into the white background. |

Thanks, I was a bit disappointed as well. My average started out at 6.2 and dropped all the way down to 5.6. A lot of people commented about my wide border and I think that may have subconsciously affected voting. My intent was to keep a true widescreen aspect ratio. Thanks for all the great comments, this is my highest commented photo yet. |

Oh WOW I'm surprised to see you only got a 5.9 .. thats still good of course but seeing I gave you an 8 I had higher expectations for this great shot .. Guess maybe it was a bit artsy for some ppl? I didn't think so ... =/ Better luck next time |

Several others did the finger-frame thingy and I scored most of them very low, but you did a great job and brought life and feeling to the shot...
Great work! |

nice idea, composition. I would have liked to see a bit more of the right hand. Its kinda got distracted with too much light |

I like this one, nice framing too :-) Great light and the 16:9 format gives a "movie" feeling to the picture. 10, good luck

Very clever - I like this one a lot. Black and white is perfect for the photo, which is clear and well taken. Good work! |

The letterbox frame you've used fits well in to the whole photograph - and normally I wouldn't consider the frame to be a real part of the pic. I understand what you're going for, and it's well executed in this shot. 8 for now. |

Excellent. Nice high contrast, the black edges help (usually I don;t like them). Great work. |

Good pose, lighting. I have mixed feelings about the border - I like how it conveys the idea of film but it almost seems too bold, attacting attention from the subject. Well - changed my mind - it's all good! |

As I was thinking about the challenge, this was the first image that came to mind and one I was unsuccessful capturing with the style and grace you gave this one. You have executed it flawlessly. I like the high key approach. Composition, focus, DOF, levels are perfect. Very very well done. Among my top 10 this time out. (9) |

Strong shot, good title, good lighting. I like the framing and that you skipped the vertical parts, it makes a balance with the models hair. |

I can't believe I'm giving a 10 for someone using their fingers as a frame after looking at all the terrible ones! The widescreen black bars really make this shot for me as they relate to the title and the reason for you doing the finger thing. I also like that the wifebeater blends seemlessly into the background yet the rest of the model is exposed properly. I'm curious to know you are your own model in this shot. Great work. 10 |

great idea. The large black borders aren't my favorite, this would have benefitted from slimmer ones for sure. You were probably going for the "Widescreen" effect though, so I'll chalk it up to personal dislike. The image itself is very nice. The harsh lighting actually works for me, and I think the creativity is top notch. 8 |

Nice! maybe some people won't like the widescreen border choice, but I love it! I think you'll do very well with this shot and I wish you luck :) |
