 What could be a harsher environment than the typical concrete jungle that modern cities are.. With traffic bustling past, metro stations and malls.

This is a typical shot of a city capturing all these elements, and i have aptly named it the Speed of Light to signify the frenetic pace of life in modern cities! It was shot with an exposure of 15 seconds @ f/22.

I'm not an expert at processing, so this one is pretty much as shot in camera, barring some crop, color enhancement of red tones, and by muting other color tones.

The centered pole draws attention to a contrast which maybe you tried to make with the selective red...however there doesn't seem to be any contrast between the two lanes; to me, this creates a disconnect. I'm looking and looking for the harsh element of this image...but I can't find it, no man standing on the median looking to cross, no crash, no fear, chaos, confusion. There's too much to look at in this image which seems unrelated.
