For those who think there is no sand in this picture, I will do a little explaining. The picture was shot on the beach. I was lying in the sand with a macro lens inches above the sand. This is a tiny piece of seaweed, and the crystals clinging to it are sand.

Interesting take on the challenge. Sand was left out, though your grainy composition I suppose does count. The color treatment is very nice, almost aluminum like. I think it is the color of the monochrome that you chose that I like the best.

Great idea, nice choice of "colour" with the yellow/cream. I do think though, for this shot the focus on the "bling" should have been better and somehow the lighting should enhance those sand pieces better - JMO
