It was a simple setup, a candle and it is on and another one is snuff. Took two Incense stick, put them on and then kept in such a way that it looks like the fumes are coming around candle. used flash trigger and kept flash on top to have very bright tip of candle and rest to be dark.


1. import using Image Capture
2. Export using DPP
3. Import to Lightroom
4. Crop rectangle
5. Crop Angle -3.44 (to straight out the photograph)
6. Clarity +21
7. Export to 800x533

The only thing that would disappoint is the black dot on the candle and I found when submitted :(

Nice picture, good concept, well lit. But why put the subject dead center? I'd try with a little less black space, and a little more of the smoke.

I would have liked it better with both candles blown out but it is still superb
