Very difficult (and common) lighting problem. Bird in the shade is properly exposed. The sunlit background wildly bright. It's a great pose. Good focus. Great Egret, possibly, but I'd need to see some field marks to know for sure.

Love those outspread wings. Not sure, but maybe I would have tried a much tighter crop? to remove most of the background (distracting) foliage.
