This does not appear to be backlit but lit more from an overhead source of light....and some what out of focus as well... |

I don't resonate with the subject I guess. Contrast and levels are fine. focus is fine. DOF is fine. Not really backlit. |

I see more shadow falling towards the back than towards the front... Plus, the harsh light in the front. Both seem to suggest front lighting rather than backlighting. |

not sure it strictly fits the challenge, or at least doesn't suggest especially that's it's been lit from behind. more on top really. also, i always felt the ipod looks better without the stand and even the headphone lead - mush less cluttered that way. angle of position of the camera needs lowering - i suspect a more straight-on image might reduce the swelling of the sides of the main subject. also, focus seems to be on the grain of the table, rather than the ipod. |

More top lighting than back, isn't it? |

The Ipod is brilliant for this project because how the light comes of it. What I would want to see to make this shot great is a black bakcground and smaller spotlight and a tighter crop. |

OK, trying to give some comments here.
When I see this photo, I dont go WOW! Because I just see a IPOD (or other electronic device) on the floor with a cable attached to it and a lamp shining on it.
Try to keep the viewer in mind when shooting a picture for DPC, your shooting for the masses.... |
