 My word is "Forsaken"

With only one day of voting to go and 34 comments at the moment I’m quite happy with this entry. Of the guesses 26 have gone for “abandoned” which was the obvious word and fits well but I was looking for something with a little more religious meaning.
When I was shooting this place the thought crossed my mind that the religious aspect of the building was gone! I wondered if people from the area did forsake their religion or did religion forsake them……hence my word forsaken.
I big congrats to the “baghead” who guessed “desanctified” this was exactly what I was looking for….. someone looking further then the abandoned building. [user]Kewzoo[/user] was another one who came up with a good word “bereft”.
A very enjoyable challenge….I hope we have more of these

abandoned...this kind of stuff is right up my alley it's a shame that we loose so much detail when have to reduce these I'm sure at full size these three shots are all really exquisite.

My guess would be "abandoned"? Like the sepia, the light in the center image is great, really gives depth and a sense of mystery.
