Challenge: Mystery Word Triptych (Advanced Editing VII*) Camera: Canon EOS-50D Location: Madison, WI Date: Jul 18, 2012 Date Uploaded: Jul 18, 2012

I wonder how many people are going to think this is a triptych of the capitol building. Nope. My mystery word is Isthmus. Madison, WI is a thin strip of land connecting two larger bodies of land, surrounded by two large bodies of water. It's a fairly rare geographical setup, and one that affords Madison some cool opportunities.
Unfortunately, I'm betting this image won't do well, I will be happy to break a 5. None of the images are cracking good, just basically well thought out snap shots (I thought about each image well before I went to take it). But this is one of those where I know I can stump people with the mystery word, so I had to do it :)

Interesting editing notes, since I likely won't have time to type them all up:
* On the right image, I used a gradient on the sky to turn it from a blown out look to give it color. This is something I will do more of!
* Wanted to put the water images on each side of the land, but that was creating too short of an image. So I ended up with this.
* The bottom left image is flipped to make sure that the capitol isn't lined up along the left |

Hmm... I'm not sure about the mystery word on this one.... If I knew where these were taken I might be better equipped to answer. I'm going to go with "Twin" |
