Pity it was silhouetted. it would have done well otherwise. |

love this image. very original and well executed. wonder if it is a real person, a real tree, or a real statue? regardless of that it is, it is marvelous. |

It's a nice background, but the foreground is completely dard and in silhouette - against the guidelines of the challenge. |

Unusual pose but then what is usual for a mermaid? |

Too much of a silhouette to meet the challenge IMO |

the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting... |

Neat image, but it really lost the detail - at least from what I can see. Maybe with less "brights" and a little subject and foreground dodging it would appeal more. Just my opinion. Others may disagree. Good luck. |

Lovely image, but don;t think it will do well in the challenge as it is a silhouette, which was specifically against the rules. Best of luck anyway. |

Doesn't meet challenge. foreground is silhouette only (at least on my monitor). That being said it's a nice abstract image. Focus is quite good. Comp is good too. |

This shot looks good except for one thing, I would have croppped out the mast at the right. It just does not look right and also balance the shot from left to right. 7 |

Beautiful photograph, but your subject is silhouetted. |

Silhouette. Horizon is skewed just enough to be noticeable. |

Beautiful silouette, but that was one of the key things not to do in the challenge.
Still rank it as a 5 for the shot! |

Nice image. Subject looks silouetted, though. |

Awesome use of backlighting, but it doesn't fit the description of this challenge in my opinion. |

Maybe it's my monitor, but wasn't the idea to NOT make a Sillhouette? |

Good! But your main subject is a silohuete. |

I like the image but had to knock off a point because the rules state "the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting."

unfortunately the light created a silhouette would have been nice to see the features on the mermaid |

Here's the catch: the subject must not become a silhouette because of the backlighting. |
