 I think this will meet the challenge. A relatively tame blue heron. Not the best specimen I've ever seen, but He allowed me to get close. My son chased him off,and got a few shots as he flew away over the water.

Fantastic shot. It scored well here, but I wonder if it would not have done better in a Free Study. I am not sure all found it connected well with the theme of the challenge (16 votes of 4 or lower??). Regardless, it is a beautiful that was beautifully handled in processing.

I like the sharpness in the leaves and the flurry aspect of them. It makes me feel like if I were looking at an untidy bird. It gives a lot of personality to the bird. I miss to have some more defined background, the reflection of the featureless sky and all highlights blown up give me the impression that the bird was cut from another image and pasted in this background (I am not saying that that is the case) I am sure is a result of the post-processing.
