 I was on my way to Ueno to see the Tutankhamun exhibition, so after I got off the train at Asakusa I went for a wander down the street before taking the subway to Ueno., about 10.30am I saw cameramen sitting on the side of the street and people in orange shirts getting ready for the Asakusa Samba, which is a yearly event at the end of August but which I had forgotten about. (I had always wanted to go.)
I asked what time it started and they said 1.30pm. So I went to the exhibition - hot and crowded - and went back to Asakusa afterwards. The parade had already started with a couple of bands from local schools.
The street was incredibly crowded and I slowly, slowly made my way up to the other end. It was pretty impossible to get a good shot from ten rows of people back, so most of my shots were from holding my camera at arm's length above heads in front of my. Lots of misses that way. I can understand why those cameramen sat out three of four hours early, but I wouldn't do it in that heat.
Anyway, it's an entry in colour in a challenge where no doubt eight of the top ten will be in black and white.

Lots of colorful action. Sun may be a bit bright this time of day and it is a tad busy (which is often the case with street photography!)
