Great summer clouds, Laurie. This photograph must be a real shock to our friends in NE cities who may never, ever have seen country without crowds of people, cars and buildings.

Returning for comments.
This is a super wide panorama with an attractive foreground with the sky as the main attaction. I would use less um with the silhoetted horizon. However, image is still strong enough to rise way above the average. Bumping up to bext level.

This explains much. Obviously Texans use roads as photographic props and not places to drive. ;) I like the cloudline, and the color is good. My major problem is the placement of the road. It ends up dividing the lower thrid of the image in half. It just bugs me. You have a great thrids thing going all the way through (top third blue, next is the cloud layer, then the road/grass) .

Nice sky and clouds. Would have liked to see more of the road though.

Man, there is NOTHING more boring to me when traveling than flat, on-going for ever, monotonous, straight highways. I would NEVER try and put them in a travel guide designed to entice visitors. Nice clouds though - and good contrast. Good luck with it in the challenge.

Nice photo but not much interest to it.

What's perfect? a) Exposure. b) Composition. c) Mood. It just needs a slight injection of the WOW factor to be a real top contender.

This is magic. To make all that open Texas landscape look inviting! Good job!

I really like where you were heading with this pic (no pun intended) but, especially due to the title, I would have liked to see the road stretching off into the distance - it would have been the subject in your photograph. I believe that every picture needs a subject to draw attention and create the 'wow' factor - this is the element that seems to be lacking in this one. The cloud formations are amazing! You've captured these very well!!!

Nice use of negative space! The white line where the horizon and the sky meet is a little distracting. Perhaps a little oversharpened?
