What fun...
1. Built a black box.
2. Bought glow in the dark aliens they are about 1" tall.
3. Bought some of that gooey, sticky but not stick-on, slimy stuff in blue.
4. Wrapped the alien dude in the goo.
5. Set a tall vase with crackled glass in the black box.
6. Looped the end of the goo over a pencil and hanged the guy in the vase. Slowly (at first), the little guy would lower into the dark box.
7. Shot 6,8 & 10 second exposures. With data time I was getting 3-4 shots per goo-drop. Also used a LED keychain light and flashed through the goo from the top to give it that translucent blue look.
8. This particular capture got stuck on the side of the vase as it was oozing and sticking made it roll head-down the side so I actually flipped this upside down to make him look like and evil entity hell-bent on escape.
I got some cool shots Ill put up after the challenge.

Not even going to try to guess how you did this. You definitely achieved a sense of depth - that the arc of ice comes out from the background towards you.
