 Taken by the side of a road, sun behind flower. The background is a bunch of pine trees, but it looks black because the exposure was set to the yellow of the flower minus .7.

70-300 tele-zoom at 300mm.

Flipped horizontally, straightened, cropped, adjusted b/w point (only the black point), adjusted levels for higher contrast, applied clarify filter (setting=1).

Added border, reduced to size, sharpened.

The centre of the flower lacks any detail (particularly asyou have used an identical coloured background

Really like the yellow on this one, seems like it's a little too dark most other areas. But the clarity is outstanding.

I'm not really a big fan of flower shots, but this one is very good. Meets the challenge head on too. I surprised myself by giving this a 10!

Great example of backlighting... love the simplicity of this entry. Great shot on the flower, I like the black background and in this case the border adds to it as well. Very nice. :-)

Love the vibrant color and I actually like the understated border (not normally a fan of borders and frames) . If it was a tiny bit sharper it would have been perfect.
