iPhone shot with Instagram edit. Aimee's guess for a score is a 4.1 and she says she doesn't know why I am entering it. My guess for a score is a 5.3 and I am not really sure why I am entering it other than I really enjoy this image. Can you see both cats?

Aimee's guess was inline with the vote. This gives me a new personal worst, yet it still brings a smile to my face. I hang out on the front porch often and both Olive and Hairball like to hang with me. This was just a quick snapshot of a moment in my life. When I first posted it up on Instagram, Aimee saw it while at work and knew exactly where I was and what I was doing. She appreciated that aspect of the image. The image itself - not so much. ;)

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.

Positives: I like how the elements of the image are woven together - mirroring the wicker of the furniture. The height difference of the cats and the different parts shown create the impression of a loop of existence, like a Escher piece. I like the coloration and the movement of the lower cat too.

Critical stuff: The white paw approaches being blown and the tones are flat, some highlight recovery or the addition of some tonal contrast into the paw would have helped I think.

Overall: Imaginative and effective.

I don't like the composition and the moving cat and only a small part of the image (the cushion) is in focus.
