essay, part 12:

This cheating is fair because all art has its moment, and that is the moment between seeing and being, however long or disjointed that may be. I had an art teacher who played music while we sketched, who told us that the best way to draw a dancer is to dance, so that your muscles feel the same thing as the muscles you are drawing. Draw from the shoulder, she would say, because the motion of the arm is in the drawing. Yes, all art is moment and motion, and none of it can be trusted.

This is a beauty, Don. I had it at 9. The VW badge floating on its own plane above everything else is superbly surreal :-)

I think I'm enjoying the reflection entries in this challenge more than I did those in the recent Reflection challenge :) Maybe crop off the left just a tad to lose that half pole leaning into the frame . . . Voted earlier.

I didn't recognize the walking figure right away, I was enjoying the shapes & shadows. She seems to be towing her bit of environment behind her as she hurries on to the next thing. In roving around the image, I noticed the upper L & R corners as non-contributing details.

The harshness of the city. I like your opposing warm and cool tones.
