 A strange, misshapen creature. An oddly appealing face, a body strong in the front end and improbably slight in the rear, with the transition hidden under a shaggy coat that seems ill-fitted, or at least negligently worn. It is a thing of nightmares, the brown hyena. Something of a wraith, but as with the vampire its magic is diluted with the rising sun. Then this ghostly thing seems exposed as a spirit split from its own world, and wanting nothing more than to slip back through the curtain to that black place. - P.M. (ubique)
