I used electrical tape to stick the incense burner to a loose shelf, then twist-tied the incense to the holder. Then I flipped the whole thing over and suspended it in front of a black velvet background. Then I held my breath and took a couple hundred photos. I was shut into the bathroom so that the incense would be blown by drafts as little as possible, so I smell very strongly of incense now!

The gravity effect works well and the smoke is fine though I feel the box could be sharper.

Wonderful sharp photo, I also love the colours. :-) I think though, the browns on the bottom are too much, I would crop about 28-30% of the photo, and keep 1/2 - 1 cm of the smoke-stick holder. (8)

You know, this image worked on me in strange ways. I voted lots of images down because of little emphasis on smoke (more fire than smoke, etc.). But, this image is in an overall sense very well balanced, both in composition and in colors and contrasts. It's a really well put together image. And then ... you start looking at the smoke ... and it IS doing really strange and wonderful things, isn't it? And it's all in focus (the smoke is). So, I bumped it way up in my ratings. Good luck with the challenge.

very nice and crisp image. I like the smoke trail and the angle of the incense stick.
