 Again I see I only took pictures on one day during this time frame. A trip to the aquarium. There isn't much to do around here in the winter so this is how I keep the kids entertained. LOL! This is an African porcupine and you can see his trainers heel leaving the frame. He lives in the hippo enclosure (which is a huge space). The trainer can only enter this space after the hippos have been put in their area that isn't open to the public. It's very rare to see this guy out as it is nocturnal. It's also very large, about 2 feet long.

Cute!! We don't have porcupines in Newfoundland and I've only seen them in zoos before.

I find these guys hilarious. They just waddle around as if nothing is going to bother them...maybe because nothing is going to bother them...except for my neighbor's stupid dog.

Looks pretty much like our mountain porcupines, except darker. Nice photo of quills, eye, feet and whiskers.
