Fascinating place. I can undertsand why the authorities might get testy about putting things in a reservoir, though, no matter how entertaining such an act was meant to be. |

they are beautiful, 23 metres across the opening to get some scale.

i made 30 origami paper boats and stuck candles in them and tried to sail them down it on a long exposure for the candles challenge, there were a few problems i had to launch them from the bank on the right, which is about a 3 metres deep and the wond just blew them back at me :) plus it a reservoir and there are all kind of terrorist legislation about putting stuff in it :)
they roar with a deafening thunder when the are in flood, very loud and scary

The drainage structure is a work of art. Makes for a very good photographic subject. I have a mountain, which I'd photograph all the time, if I didn't think it would be voted down because people recognize it and hate me. You're lucky to be a popular member so you can photograph this dozens of times without penalty. |

The hole never gets old for me, so don't let that enter your head. Always very cool and wonder. I agree with Nam... kind of scary looking. There's a mystery book somewhere in there. |
