One afternoon after school, I went up round the side/back of Nikko Toshogu for the camera phone challenge; this photo was taken with the phone as well.
The guy with his shirt off is Kim Hyon Jun, who is somewhat of a Korean heart-throb (apparently, though I'm not sure why), getting ready to film some martial art scene for a historical drama. You can see part of the track for the movie camera.
And for some reason this little shrine is for shogi chess pieces of various sizes.

A very cool spot - and I love your story to go along with it.

Who knows why some people are adored? Rather surprised anyone let you get close enough to take any sort of picture.

Discoveries like this are always fun - even more so in the rediscovery through remembering as this side challenge exercise proves.
