Wow! I think this is my first top 10 in FS! Thanks for all the comments!!!
This was a staged shot for an engagement session I was doing for a couple. When I saw this old elevator I knew I had to somehow incorporate it into our shoot. The lighting was simple: 1xSB910 set at 1/2 power held in the left hand of the girl connected by PW's. The lighting you see on the far right wall from the strobe shooting through the metal bars on the elevator cage.
In retrospect, I really should have fixed the lighting coming from the hall on the far left side....oh well, next time |

What a very unusual composition... and it works beautifully!
Congrats on your TT in a FS!

Beautiful scene- more perfume ad than noir movie feel, but well spaced. |

Thanks for something indoors. Terrific near noir shot cinematically composed. Bump to 8. |

great catch... or was it staged? ... doesn't matter really as it's just as good either way. |

I could do without the open bit on the left but I wouldn't know where to crop LOL Love the stairs, the interest of the wall behind them, and the silhouettes. Voted earlier. 9 |

I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Superbly seen, composed and exposed. If this is a candid, I'm in awe. If it isn't then I'm impressed that I'm not completely convinced that it isn't! The way the image is broken into two halves - the lift and the stairs - and the way each half is itself beautifully exposed (despite the massively different lighting) and composed is remarkable. More impressive still that this two (quite discrete) halves hang together so well.
Critical stuff: I do wish the structure on the left border of the image had been removed...
Overall: Magnificent work. |

Funny thing is that I look first at the woman's shoes, one size too large. |

i do like the feel of this one the look back at the old movie style of classic movies i'd have been happy with the crop at the edge og the lift wall myself on the left... but maybe thats just me could have had more of the stairs... but its not a big issue, just a preference on this particular image |
