I know you were perhaps trying to stay away from the book/movie title "Remains of the Day" but that phrase is so evocative I would have gone with it. Out of curiosity was the sky really that shade of purple/black because it seems a little unlikely to me.

I want the sky to be lighter, but then I guess you're in danger of not meeting the challenge... Nicely composed & good PS work on the trees.
