Challenge: Smoke (Advanced Editing II)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Location: Norman, Oklahoma
Date: Sep 12, 2004
Aperture: f/9
ISO: 400
Shutter: 1/200
Galleries: Sports, Action
Date Uploaded: Sep 11, 2004

I taped the ball to a sign post bracket with a Mammoth Smoke behind it. The glove was tied on with a ribbon. I lit the mammoth smoke and snapped the pictures. I did it several times and unfortunately, this is the best one.

Hmm... I think I would have added some motion blur to the ball, just to make it seem caught in the action. Great idea, though!

Original. I think I would have liked to see the bottom of the glove in the shot. It looks a bit suspended without seeing the arm going into the glove. Good job overall. 8.

cute idea, the smoke looks more like clouds, but I think it "works".

Slightly confused as to how you got the effect? I get the smoking ball but the smoke doesn't give the impression of speed. IMHO if you can remove all the smoke this would be a great shot for a print (challenges don't really mean that much).

*vote watcher?* that last 1 was a bump :)

Sensational, just love it. Second photo I pick as a ribbon winner, though could not even guess the order. Great stuff. 10
