A player for a 70+ team in the "Kamloops Senior Men's Slo-Pitch Coors Tournament". I decided to shoot this because it would probably be unique to the challenge. I'm guessing there will be a lot of kids/teens/young adults in this challenge, playing a variety of sports.. but who's going to shoot 70 year olds playing a game they obviously love so much as to continue playing it into their golden years?
I chose the sepia tone, and added some noise, as I wanted to give my photograph the "rusted" look of yester-year, to go with the age of the player. It'll score low because of this, but I accept that. The polished look that wins challenges these days was *completely* wrong for this entry.
Editing included brightness/contrast, Hue/Saturation, minor curves adjustment, sharpening, cropping, re-sizing, and 6% noise addition. |

After all the photos of kids' soccer and college sports, this photo's really refreshing because of its unique subject matter. Points for creativity. Thanks! |

Therrific photo. B&W (sepia?) enhances the feeling of aged. (Not old.) One of my favorites in this contest. |

I really like this shot. It is a bit on the grainy side (not necessarily a bad thing in my opinion, just observation), and it would have been even better if the background had been blurred and the crop left a bit of space in front of the subject (left side)instead of behind (right side). I think that would have helped illustrate motion. What a great subject. Good job. 7. |

This is a great shot. I wish it had been a little brighter. The darkness of the photo gives a sense of grainiess to it which may actually not be there. And too bad those people at the fence could not have moved for you to take the photo. |
