This was my top pick for the week. I imagined you'd probably get hammered for the "team" aspect - some people just need to be hit over the head with it. Still, 17th is not bad at all. Great job; fantastic photo.

Okay... I have 2 daughters and one son on the swim team. You would be hard pressed to convince them that swimming is not a "team sport" (races are performed as a team, scoring is based on team results and some races, such as relays, actually require multiple participants in a single lane to obtain a score).

Still... I get what everyone is saying. Those that couldn't think of swimming as a "team sport" were looking more for physical contact or interaction between team members rather than just team participation. I understand. The challenge, of course, did not say any such interaction was necessary. But I do appreciate the feedback.

I also appreciate the votes that were given! Thanks!

There's nothing in this image to indicate it's a team event. It's a swimmer for sure - but he could well be a morning swim. It could have been captured during a team event, but this image does not show it.
My point is, at least another swimmer taking over or looking on would have given the idea that there's a team here working together. Then you can argue that swimming can be a team sport - well, anything can be a team sport, but you have to show that it is.

Could have worked equally well in the challenge on stopping motion. Really neat image. Focus and composition are great. Don't know what you did regarding tone, but the toning in this image really lends itself to the depiction of the human being arrested right in the middle, too. Man isn't it neat how that water just hangs there? Love the image. Good luck in the challenge.

Very well done. I am a fan of sepia, but this one I would like to see in color.

Great shot. I wonder what this would have looked like with a blue tone instead of Sepia? Good job.

Hmm, team sport? Well, they do call it a swim team don't they! Overall a good shot. I like the B&W and centered composition best, and the water does look cool. Don't like how the top of the head is cut off and it probably shouldn't matter but it looks like the swimmer only has one tooth on the bottom row. Probably a trick from the light, but it is a bit distracting and such a young and otherwise very handsome young man. Gave this an average score.

Great picture, but swimming is not a real team sport. Sure there're the 4xsomething, but technically it's an individual sport.

Nicely done. The lighting and fast shutter speed work for the photo in capturing the movement through the water.
