This isn't the best shot I ever got, but it's possibly the one that moves me most. Memorial Day weekend, I met this Vietnam Vet at the WW2 memorial. As I tend to do, I thanked him for his service. My thanks moved him to tears. You see, it was his first every visit to the Wall. And the first time anyone ever thanked him for what he did. I still tear up every time I look at it.

I agree with Ray. As a nation, we owe a huge debt to our warriors. They protect the freedoms we so carelessly take for granted. You captured a great sentiment.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Clara. My Grand Dad was in WWI, my Dad was in WWII, and I spent 20 years in the Air Force (mostly peace time). The love for those who serve our country is in my blood. I appreciate people like you so very much! :)
