I agree with chaimelle about the hardness here but it suits the expression (or vice versa) and makes for a very interesting portrait.

The deep V black shadow makes it look like a part of her clothing. Interesting.

Maybe this is exactly the look you were going for, but the lighting and shadows are too harsh for me. This portrait has a hard, defiant look.
