This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!
(Voted earlier)
This is one of my 8s - I like it a good deal. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Despite (or perhaps because of) the clutter, this is a compelling portrait image - it seems to be very authentic and is all the better for it.
2. The clutter, as I think about it, does help - it almost forms a tunnel for the eye, leading it to his face.
3. High contrast but gentle tones on the face - it's a juxtaposition that works.
Overall, one that catches my eye and holds my attention. |

I tend to like tighter crops and would like this better if the top third of the image were cropped off with the vendor's hat just fitting in the image. Nice tonal range and an interesting character. |
