Would have been better if the guy in the stands hadn't stood up in front of me, but oh well, what can you do...

Believe me people, I did notice the guy in front! I didn't like him either, but if I cropped him out, then I would have lost the guy sliding on the ground making the splash, and I just couldn't bring myself to lose him. When I tried it, it just lost too much that way. Oh well...

Head in foreground is very distracting.

I hate when people get in the way of a good shot.

Too bad about the spectator... :)

aarrrggghhh...i know how you feel

I think it would have more impact if you had cropped to just above the red boy helmet. however I still marked high because of the expression and you still got a good shot.

cool shot. very nice "sports action" feel to the picture. the interfering head on the foreground takes away from the image a bit.

Thank the person in your foreground for lowering my vote from an 8 to a 3....

Really spoilt by the head(?) bottom left
09/17/2004 04:23:11 PM
You know, this image could be really improved just by cropping out the head in the lower left and down on the top until the two markers at uppper left disappear. I know you'll lose the player falling on his face trying to make the tackle, but you'll emphasize the ball carrier attempting to evade and the potential tackler zeroing in. Anyway, that would be my suggestion. Nice image otherwise. Good luck with the challenge.

what a nice picture this would have been if you haven't caught the spectators head. The expression on the boy's face: priceless..

could have been a gr8 photo though its rather unfortunate that there is the large head in the foreground

good action but very distracted by the head in the photo.

that "thing" on the lower left corner is so distracting.....pity....or else a nice image

This would have been more effective if you'd cropped the top and bottom of the picture. This would eliminate the blur in front/bottom and the distraction of the stands at the top. I like the facial expression you've captured on #12.

It's a great shot but the OOF head ruins it for me. I hope you thumped him.

Good capture on red 12, I think I would have cropped close on him and the guy at his feet to get rid of the head, or perhaps straight across...

Ohhhh, why the head, this is realy a good action shot, but the back of the head takes everything away, from an amazing shot to a just avarage shot....

Sometimes the head on the foreground allows the reader to be part of the audience but sometimes it doesn't work. It doesn't work for me this time. Sorry. I like the action frozen on the turf though.

Great photo except the head in the bottom left corner.
