I wanted this to win. I'm still a bit tired of going thru football and soccer shots... I thought your photo was very creative, very well done, good quality, love the B/W, do wish I could see the gal's hand, do wish it placed higher!!

You were robbed! Thought for sure this would be in the top ten at least. I gave this a 10. Excellent photo, and I wish I would have thought of something like this! |

Great crop, good action shot, and it's not a bunch of people running around with a ball - wonderful! |

Well - it's not exactly an "everyday" team sport - but it is one you photographed very well. The intensity on the faces is great. Use of B&W was a good choice. |

I like it. Very nice wide DOF. I think that some of your models aren't pulling their own weight thought :-P A thicker rope would have looked more natural for such a competition. 8. |

Thanks for an original entry! A team sport that almost all of us have played and yet that few of us would have thought to photograph for this challenge! In addition, the composition is great, and you captured the facial expressions perfectly. One of my favorite photos in this challenge. Good luck!

Geez, tug-a-wars are really fun. Not too many people get involved in them anymore. Guess there were a few accidents. This image has a pretty nice composition in terms of the arrangement of the players. It could use a teeny bit more focus on the closest arm and I'd love to lose some of the competing background objects - specifically the dead tree. But, it is reflective of the action and effort involved and it is a different kind of sport than your normal football, basketball, baseball, etc. Nice shot. Good luck in the challenge. |

I wish I had thought of this! Great use of B&W (bet the color was too busy!). Like how it makes you look down the line of some very determined faces. Excellent composistion. |

I like this perspective shot, but it seems like maybe you over sharpened it. It's a bit grainy. |

This shot doesn't really look genuine...I like the idea though and the angle is effective. |

Ain't no team sport like a tug-o-war. I only see the number two guy giving it all he has. Unfortunately facial grimacing doesn't get you extra points for pulling on the rope as does focus and muscles. It does however give this photographer a higher score. Great angle shot and love the dead tree background on the right. |
