 I became obsessed with shooting these grasses poking out of the snow. I took many iterations with different views and settings. This is the one that really stuck out to me the most. The wind was blowing hard, making everything curve around in the same direction. That gave a really cool feeling of brush strokes, and something I am glad I captured.

Minimal was tough here, as getting the right exposure in camera in a snowy field is not easy. Then I had forgotten to set my white balance, so the snow had a blueish tint in some photos. But when I finally nailed what I set out to get, I was happy :)

I am saddened that I don't have sharpening control over this image, it could really use it. I did find that resizing to 20% seemed to work a bit better than resizing to exactly 800 pixels. This did bring down my image size ever so slightly (by 7 pixels horizontal, 4 pixel vertical) but that feels like a fine trade off for a bit sharper image.

It is fun to play with the ratio switch on my camera. This was shot at 16:9, so I'm expecting to see another validation request early in the challenge. I assure you, this was just resize and save.

Love this too! Detail isn't quite what I'd want here (seems just a tad soft), but it's not bad either.

The aspect ratio is curious, and doesn't seem like it would be easy to do in camera - since that plays into my score in minimal challenges this is getting bumped from a 6 to an 8.
