 Structural wall along the C&O Canal with busy street on top. The canal is drained each winter so the water level is low. Normal water level comes to the top of the light colored stones. I tried to capture an authentic everyday image that illustrates the following realities: nothing lasts, nothing is finished, and nothing is perfect. This is my understanding of wabi-sabi. Being weathered or distressed isn't enough to make something wabi-sabi IMO.

Title is from a Tom Waits song with the same name. I think it plays well with the tree pushing through the wall.
