 I thought about this all week but didn't put it together until two hours before the deadline. I'm not sure how pleased I am with it, but I sure did learn a lot. I did several retakes because a label was showing, or one spice had mixed with another. Things that don't show up on the LCD display. Without a lightbox, I held a flashlight through a translucent tray just above the spices. In PP, I added a little vignetting, cranked up the saturation, and fiddled with exposure/brightness.

(Just to add: I actually am pleased with it. Whether or not it will do well with DPC voters - probably not as it's a rather boring photo and I can understand it not scoring well when compared to fabulous or creative images. But I believe it turned it (almost) as I expected - which is a huge leap for me! I'm getting there. :))

Nice mix of colors and shapes! I wish it was a little closer so that we can see all the detail in the grains and spices and seeds etc. Find I'm craving that detail in this image.
