 The editing here probably would have met the requirements for a standard challenge. Photoshop 7, played with brightness, contrast, and curves. (More luck than skill.)

how did you get this kind of lighting (at night?) with 1/1000 at 6.3? did you just darken the image?

now, was this shot during the day and the levels adjusted to make it appear as if it was night? That's what i think, but whatever you did it is a nice effect!

Great job capturing the motion of the waves. And I like the fact that it is a night photo, it is more interesting to me.

A unique shot. Love the black and the calmer pool of water in the front. Neat sky color and stop of splash on top

Beautiful colors and an awesome wave capture. I love the spray of the white foam against the dark, dark blues of the ocean and night sky. I find this one mesmerizing. -8

I think the dark tones and high contrast of this image almost make it abstract. To me its a very evocative image. The glare in the dark areas and the white foam across the middle express a dark and moody sense while at the same time being powerful and merciless. The only thing I would change would be to rotate a little to straighten the horizon. Just personal taste. Good Luck.

This is a really interesting shot with nice dramatic contrast. I really like it a lot and it's perfect for this challenge. Very good job.
