The texture of the carpet is nicely captured, but I find it distracting. Also, a vertical format capturing more of the black and white dog might have been more effective.

You got a good laugh out of my husband and I on this one! Hopefully it is just playing. While this photo grabs at my heart-strings, photographically, it doesn't. The carpet is boring and doesn't enchance the activity -- not that you could change it. 5

A top angle flattens the perspective, resulting in a flat shot. To get more sence of action, you need to get down to the same, or lower, angle and zoom right into the action. That would also help reduce the negative impact of the carpet. 4

looking at this photo i don't get the feeling like there was any motion going on when this was taken..

Good catch of the smaller dog's teeth. The pattern of the carpet kinda glares in the shot.

utter rubbish by any standards

the idea was not to have motion blur...not much motion there.

Maybe it was the angle, but this one is not drawing me in. My dogs do this all the time, so I know how tough it is to get something that doesn't show the motion (without the blur), but you've done it.
