 An HDR photo of 6 colored pencils shot though a column of water. I was surprised at how much the water twisted the lines of the pencils. I used Photomatix to combine the three exposures and to tone-map the result. I then used Photoshop and Lightroom to crop, dodge and burn, clone out some minor imperfections, and sharpen the image. I am very happy with the final result.

Thanks for all of the kind words and comments. They are really appreciated. I am so excited about the results from this competition. After the initial scores, I was just hoping that my score would stay above 7, since my previous high was in the 6.3 range. I am thrilled to have received a ribbon. With my first year in DPChallenge ending April 27, I am looking forward to continuing to grow as a photographer in my second year.
