 A redo of my Avatar image. This one with a little more "venom" to it. I've been told I have a nasty dirty look when I'm angry, guess that was inspiration for the shot.

Lighting was simple: a single flash with single shoot-thru umbrella on my right, head height and just in front.

Really, really like this image (self-portrait) hoping it does well and challenges my Avatar image for PB. Tall order asking for a 6.5+ though.

Processing:

- Import into LR3
- Heavy crop (roughly 1:2)
- Increase Blacks (+15)
- Increase Fill (+10)
- Export to SEP2
- Apply Wet Rocks Preset
- Adjustments to global Structure/Brightness/Contrast sliders
- Local Structure adjustments to skin for more texture and to eye to make it more pronounced
- Add Orange Filter
- Add Vignette (Lens Falloff #3)
- Back to LR3
- Adjustments to Clarity (+54) and Sharpness (+62)
- Dodging and Burning on face to reduce hotspots/highlights and deepen shadows in wrinkles
- Iris enhance (twice)
- Cloned out some spots on face
- Tone Curve adjustment
- Save for Web

The eye contact makes me feel like the hatred is directed at me and the dark concealment of half of his face accentuates the malice. This actually made me shudder, so a very effective capture of that emotion.
