 I happened to be at this location when I read the details of this challenge that was announce only a couple of hours earlier. I thought what shot would be viewed as something that would be produced by a painter and could only think of portraits, landscapes and still life. Then I thought water was also common so I set about trying t find an interesting subject with water as a major background. Then it was important to think of what the painter would try and emphasise and to me that is strong light and shadows when outdoors. So I waited what felt like for ever for the sun to break through then hoped the only two birds on the beach would do something for me.

So this is it. A shot taken specifically for the challenge but will probably not be considered as one when compared to the expected portraits, landscapes and still life. The birds didn't really cooperate for a decent pose and of course they decided to fight and fly off when the clouds returned and the images became too flat.

This was more difficult than I first thought. I was hoping a Topaz preset would suffice but it produced so many unrealistic artifacts that it took a fair bit of tweaking to get what I wanted. And naturally, it will still bomb out in the voting :)
