This is the image I entered to reach 700 challenge entries. The members who criticized my interpretation of "fork in the road" in the forums were instrumental in causing me to leave DPC. The intolerant comments were the straws which broke the camel's back ... at the fork in the road.

Anyway, I'm happier now, being free from the burden of DPC participation. 700 challenges, 7 years and 107,000 votes are enough. The concept of anti-selection is going to play out at DPC.

Great image. To me, it is fascinating that the trails do not diverge quicker - there appears to be time to change your mind on the road you take. But, diverge they do, and one can never know where a road may go, or what may have happened had you picked the other.

the story is lost in the grandeur of the background. If this were submitted as a landscape photo my comment would be that the foreground is an unnecessary distraction.

The main idea was the fork in the road..... then I would have rated higher. Too much of the beautiful scene at the back. Nice photo though.

Now, THAT's a fork in the road. Or trail... Whatever :-) Makes me homesick for high country, the which I don't have any of here :-) Highest place on the Cape may be 100 feet above sea level, give or take...
