 I had some areas I wanted to explore around the Appleton, WI area, but didn't get the time. Standing up in a wedding sure eats into your photography :)

But I did happen upon this old gas station. There is still a standing sign which most of the letters have fallen off, but to include that would be to include the church next door. Then you wouldn't see this as Desolate.

Some of my favorite shots involve Nature reclaiming the landscape from humans, or I guess "very recent anthropological/archaeological" shots.

what gets me are those rectangular slabs of concrete being told what for by the vegetation.
