I need to find a mini reflector maybe.... Can't see carrying around a big 4' one at the zoo. People think I'm crazy enough as it is :) |

A clear improvement over yesterday's shot.
This looks smooth and nice - I do think a bit more DOF would have been nice, something like f/3.5 or so maybe?
I've found that using some artificial lighting, or at least a bounce reflector, really makes a huge difference with flowers like this - giving them a dark background and really making them pop. |

I'll have to check on the filter, I know there's on on that lens, but it may be just a haze filter. And I JUST learned the trick about turning it!

Oh that's fun! I love the dof and the colors. Have you tried using a polarizer on shots like this? I never realized how much a polarizer helped with highlights on leaves. (You probably already know about it, but it shocked the heck out of me the first time. I always used it for skies. :) |
