Greetings from the Critique Club

I'm inclined to agree with the others on this one. The focus and color on this shot is excellent. However, I think a vertical composition with tighter cropping on the grass tree would help a lot. The colors are wonderful, but so much background out of focus distracts from the subject. Also, is there a black bug at the top of the shot? Good work. Keep submitting!

A very interesting subject! I'd try a closer crop, though, showing less (or no) grass in the background.

Interesting and unique subject. But it feels funny that the subject isn't quite vertical. The background is good though because it's busy and ... complex. :)

Good subject for this challenge, I'm not crazy about the composition, but well executed.

This tree definitely looks complex, but I think it would have been better if you cropped the image so that the tree is the main subject. As it is now, the background is too distracting. Punchier colours would help as well.

too much background that interferes with its pattern - I would have cropped and gone vertical - very simple but more to the point in my opinion

Can't help feel that the composition could have been better. It just feels slightly, well ordinary, as though something really spectacular could have been made of this with the right lighting and composition.

Interesting subject, nice DOF. Crop is a little wide for my taste but nicely done!
